Stephen Sondheim etc.

I finally made it to the computer in North Queensferry. I must say I quite enjoyed the early closing time last night. It was of course much to the dismay of the many other patrons when they were asked to vacate the bar (and I mean vacate the actual bar - they were wholeheartedly encouraged to dance upon it), but I found the 1am finish quite satisfying. It's long enough to be out
A. on a Sunday
B. in Dunfermline
and it meant that although I woke up early, there was a real sleep deficit. All round, a darn good evening.

The title comes from a discussion Chloe and I had over Kazaa and Pizza last night (Kazaa for those among you who don't know is not another Italian takeaway foodstuff, it's a file sharing network - 'illegal' downloads, to put it bluntly). I downloaded a couple of Stephen Sondheim numbers from his great show 'Into The Woods', and attempted to have Chloe see how his music is so plot and character driven that the show cannot live without the music and vice versa. Basically, Chloe prefers the plain-talking, no-nonsense approach of composers like William Finn (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) and, incidentally, me!

We're off to the outlet place to buy some bargain shoes - I currently wear a 'distressed' leather shoe, which gets more and more distressed as the days go on.

Cheerio
