Things Change

We woke up to a sunny day with a bright blue sky smiling over North Queensferry, and now, at around 4pm, the heavens have opened for business, and the rain is falling from the sky as if it were going out of fashion.

I managed to catch a few bargains in Dunfermline's sales yesterday, highlight being a nice pair of leather trainers for £5. Other than that, Subway for lunch turned out to be better than I had expected, and dinner saw us around the table in the cottage, chatting over which was the front and consequently which the back of Edinburgh Waverly Station.

I've made a start on my essay which is due in a couple of weeks. I'm required to reflect upon, and be insightful about, my degree show, in which I used the persona of Al Jolson to explore the nature of performing, and the performer. Sometimes I think I've got nothing to say, then moments later I'm worried I'll never fit it all in. At least I don't have that trouble with the blog. (And may I say I'm thouroughly enjoying keeping it up to date.)

I'll get back to the essay, idea being that I'll have a legible first draft by sometime tomorrow, giving me the ability to justify a trip to McArthur Glen (to whence we made it not yesterday). And maybe if I do well with the next couple of sections, I may even justify a trip to The Albert at one or two junctures this evening.
