Tea on a Sunday

Goodmorning all. Tea is the drink for the slow ones among us. Coffee is for the fast. Therefore, it is a cup of tea that sits by me as I write this. I was back at work (NHS 24) yesterday for the first time in over a month, and I can tell you I didn't like it. Far better to have the idling time, but I am thinking that until I complete my studies, I won't have much option but to turn up at the call centre and listen to the ramblings, all the while trying to stay calm and to make sense of it all.

On the upside, I have managed to procure a shift at Norseman House today, to save me the trouble of driving back through to Glasgow for a 5pm start (I am currently in Fife), so my day is considerably less stressful than it might have otherwise been.

Back into rehearsal at 2pm tomorrow, and my rough plan is to catch up on my RPJ Blog and tidy up a little in the morning, then be in the rehearsal room by 1pm to focus the mind and have a think about my 5 minute piece for the afternoon.

I am looking forward to a nice Sunday lunch this afternoon, before I head off to work, and I can hope that I will be feeling suitably fitter for the task this evening than I was yesterday afternoon: I will be well fed, I will have in mind the prospect of dealing with far less calls (the East Contact Centre being considerably less busy than the West 'Flagship') and I will feel less obliged to 'engage' with people, on account of not knowing them, and their not knowing of my time off, therefore their not feeling obliged to ask 'how are you', probingly attempting to deduce exactly what has been wrong.

And, at that, I'll sign off once again and return to the delights of Simon Gray's, 'An Unnatural Pursuit and Other Pieces'.
