Moving towards a 'real' weekend
I write to you in a truly Saturday morning state. I am in my pajamas, by the computer, about to tuck into my second cup of tea, and having enjoyed the first part of a great book (Milan Kundera's, 'The Unbearable Lightness of Being').
This idle state is marred only by the fact that I am to head to NHS 24 for a backshift, starting at 5pm. I'll have to leave the flat around 3pm, though, because I have to pick up a newly tire-changed car (following last night's flat) from Westerton Avenue, then drive to Clydebank to answer the phones.
It's been a very social week. I've been eating and drinking out a lot with friends, and have been involved in some greatly stimulating conversations. I am now fully at home with the tea-drinking lifestyle, and have all but given up coffee, and am doing so much reading (particularly in corners at lunchtime) that some friends are beginning to refer to me as strange - 'off he goes with his little book'.
Jerome K. Jerome inspires me with his idle musings ... signing off.
