Reading and writing and reading

It's all go in the world around me, but even more so in my own head. I am thinking almost constantly ... that sounds like a very obvious statement to make, by that I mean I am pondering and musing over ideas at almost every moment throughout the day. I am excited about being alive, about being an artist, about not defining anything too firmly so that fluidity and liminality can reign.

Getting through 'The Unbearable Lightness' at a great pace, and that book and the great website of the Idler Magazine(http://www.idler.co.uk) are both keeping me in good company at work. The shifts are getting back to what might be termed as normal. Without the added responsibility of coaching, it's getting increasingly more manageable to simply exist as a Call Handler - which has the added beauty of allowing time between calls (which can be up to 5 or 10 minutes at times) to think, ponder, muse, read, write etc etc etc.

Off through to Fife once again for fireworks and Carol's (further) birthday celebrations at her mum's house. I am hoping that we'll make it home at a reasonable hour as I'm back to full rehearsing days next week, and we actually move into the studio theatre one week from tomorrow. Apart from all that, we're beginning to formulate plans for Christmas. Looks like it'll be just Mum, Dad and me in the morning, as we're all off work (!) and then 3 of us plus Auntie, Cathy and Maria for lunch. That'll leave us the evening to pop along to Isobel's and for me to get some shut-eye (back on the phone at 8am, Boxing Day). Following that,I'll join Chloe and the family down in Beverley for a few days, then be back on shift on the 31st. We're also celebrating early with Sandy and Doreen, and separately (just Mum, Dad, Chloe and I) at the Hallion, so it should be an eventful and fun-filled festive season.
